Today is the day that we remember; we remember those who have fallen for our feedom.

On the 11th month, of the 11th day and at the 11th hour, the Great Wars finally came to a close, but even today the battle still rages on.

Today is the day that we commemorate the survivoirs and the fallen. They are the true heroes of our world. Without them, we would not have the rights and privalleges we all take for granted to this day.

The following poem was written during the first World War by Canadian a man named John McCrae. He never returned home and his poem is still celebrated on to this day on Rememberance Day. I have since, after first hearing the poem have had it memorized for many years. I feel as though I should share McCrae's words with you today:

In Flanders Fields

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved, and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders Fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders Fields.
